Young, Gifted and Afropolitan: Naomi Beckwith on Art in Harlem
I remember going to the Studio Museum in Harlem during my undergrad years with Professor Dr. Dalton. That was definitely one of my most cherished Cornell experiences. Being able to see walk through such a renowned museum dedicated to exhibiting work from and of the Diaspora was amazing. Often times such work is relegated to a less traversed permanent collection of a large museum, but at the Studio Museum the experience is so much richer than that. Thanks to Andrea at Flygirl for posting this and allowing me to reflect on such an inspirational time.
